Sasaki on Fire: Burns Atlantic with 3 HR Sunday, August 1st , 2032 It was a good day for the Biloxi Pelicans and an exceptional one for Noritoshi Sasaki. The 18-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Pelicans beat the Atlantic Schooners 9-2 at DoubleHump Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Sasaki said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 4 hits in 5 at-bats. Noritoshi Sasaki struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Alejandro Rodríguez in the 3rd, tripled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Tim Griffith in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Raúl Álvarez in the 9th. To date Sasaki has chalked up a .293 average with 11 home runs, driven in 27 runs and scored 26 times. |
