Mesa Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle Tuesday, May 4th , 2032 Juan Mesa showed off his speed, his power and his plate discipline today at Legion Field, putting together all facets of his game to hit for the cycle in the Mesa win. The 20-year-old second baseman went 5-for-6, collecting 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to help the Squirrels top the Churchill Rebels by a score of 17-12. A jubilant Mesa told reporters afterward that the experience was "unimaginable." "Seriously, I would have been happy going 1-for-6 with just the double," he said. "So this feels incredible." For the day, Mesa finished with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored to go with his 5 hits. Juan Mesa doubled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Rafael Quintana in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in a run in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
