Moss Beach Loses Kiyonobu Iijima for Season
Monday, May 3rd , 2032
The doctors have spoken and Kiyonobu Iijima of the Moss Beach Mosquitos didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Iijima sustained his season-ending injury during the Miami Matadors game yesterday at iField @ Berkshire Hathaway Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Moss Beach medical staff reported Iijima had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.
So far this season, Iijima has logged a 3-0 record with a 5.04 ERA. He has started 5 games, hurled 25 innings and registered 18 strikeouts and 1 walk.
