Manatees Prevail, as League Championship Goes to the Wire Friday, October 3rd , 2031 It went the distance, but the Brevard County Manatees finally disposed of the Moss Beach Mosquitos 9-5 in the series clincher at Frontierland Park. Winning the finale gave the Manatees the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the Rookie League Classic. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Brevard County right fielder Jeroen van Immerzeel. He batted .407 in the series, collecting 7 RBIs and scoring 6 runs. "Jeroen deserves it," said Manatees manager Darrell Kaiser. "He was the glue that held our club together." The Brevard County Manatees will play against the Inverness Highlanders in the next round. Inverness won their series against the Whistler Avalanche 4 games to 1.
