20-Game Hitting Streak for Tucker Sunday, July 18th , 2032 Shelby County lost to the Cathedral Panthers 2-1 at Eck Stadium today, but Erik Tucker kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 1 hit. The Rockets first baseman has now delivered hits in 20 straight games. "Erik has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Shelby County manager Justin Chasteen told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Erik Tucker walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd and singled in the 6th. This season Tucker is swinging the bat at a .323 rate with 101 hits in 313 at-bats. To date he has hit 29 home runs, scored 59 runs and driven in 74. |
