Sharkey Bashes 5 Base Hits Wednesday, June 16th , 2032 Bryan Sharkey told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Sharkey of the St. Xavier Tigers did against the Gulfport Goats. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 9-7 defeat. "Not much I can say," offered Sharkey in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Bryan Sharkey singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jason Pearson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ralph Earlie in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Sharkey has put up a .330 batting average with 31 hits, 5 home runs and 10 RBIs. View Boxscore |
