5-Hit Game for Daniels
Friday, May 21st , 2032
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Arthur Daniels of the Lee's Summit Tigers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 9-3 win over the North Gwinnett Ghostriders at Minute Maid Park.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 15-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Arthur Daniels singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eduardo MarĂn in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jeremiah Young in the 8th.
This season Daniels is swinging the bat at a .310 rate with 40 hits in 129 at-bats. To date he has hit 10 home runs, scored 27 runs and driven in 25.
