Hitting Streak Still Alive for Thompson Tuesday, May 4th , 2032 With 1 hit at Safeco Field today, Chet Thompson added another game to his hitting streak -- the Archbishop McCarthy second baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Aggies today, as they fell, 1-0, to the El Toro Elephants. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," El Toro manager Ryan Zimmerman said later. "I'll let him get 3 hits in 3 at-bats if it means we get a win." Chet Thompson walked in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Thus far this year Thompson has hit .427 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs. |
