Carter Bashes 5 Base Hits Sunday, July 20th , 2031 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Jaxson Carter of the Shelby County Rockets. The Shelby County second baseman gave it his all and dominated Rio Americano Raiders pitching today at Marge Schott Stadium, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Raiders going home the winner, 9-6. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Carter said later. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Jaxson Carter singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ambrose Catron in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
