Hits Galore: Cobb Drills 5 Hits Tuesday, May 20th , 2031 Riverdale Baptist first baseman Loren Cobb had a big day at Drifters Ballpark today against the Northern Patriots. The 16-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Crusaders to a 12-11 triumph over Northern. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Cobb said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Loren Cobb doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Lambert Tieleman in the 9th. On the year Cobb is hitting .354 with 46 hits, 9 home runs, 32 RBIs, .392 OBP and has scored 22 runs. View Boxscore |
