Padilla Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Jaguars
Friday, April 25th , 2031
Terra Nova Tigers first baseman Iván Padilla had a magnificent game against the DeSoto Central Jaguars today, rocketing three balls out of St. Petersburg HS Grounds to help the Tigers take the 6-1 victory.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Padilla went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Terra Nova manager Chris Thompson said later. "Seems like Iván found his home run stroke today."
Iván Padilla hit a solo-shot off Mariano Vidal in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Ron Roberts in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Will Kline in the 9th.
In 11 games this year Padilla has posted a .304 average and put up these numbers: 3 home runs, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
