Allen Smacks 3 Out of the Park Tuesday, August 24th , 2032 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Northern Colorado Bears today. Missouri first baseman Adrian Allen tripled up on the home runs to propel the Tigers to the 10-5 win at Taylor Stadium. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Northern Colorado manager Kenny Evans said. "Allen hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Allen collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Adrian Allen hit a three-run home run off Mark Bernard in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Will Gilbert in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Will Gilbert in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. This season Allen is batting .306 with 121 hits and 44 home runs. He has scored 69 times and has 104 RBI. |
