After today, Sam Davidson can celebrate. The Cal State Fullerton Titans first baseman powered three into the stands at Goodwin Field today against the San Diego Toreros. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Davidson told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Titans toppled San Diego by a score of 15-8, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 4 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Cal State Fullerton manager Gary Goodwin said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Sam Davidson hit a solo-shot off Jeff MacDonald in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jeff MacDonald in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Luis León in the 8th. In 2032 Davidson has hit at a .384 clip with 150 hits, 56 home runs, 132 RBIs and has scored 109 times. |
