Bob Drew Bashes Three over the Wall Sunday, August 1st , 2032 Cincinnati Bearcats right fielder Bob Drew slugged three home runs against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Bill Davis Stadium, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Buckeyes spoiled his day by defeating the Bearcats, 6-5. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Bob had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Cincinnati manager Jeff Herrin. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Bob, he would have preferred a win." For the game, Drew was 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Drew said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Bob Drew singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Dale Reed in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dale Reed in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Pablo López in the 8th. Presently Drew is batting .282 with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 68 games and scored 25 times. |
