Seminoles van Arem Gone for Year
Wednesday, July 21st , 2032
The doctors have spoken and Albert van Arem of the Florida State Seminoles didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. van Arem sustained his season-ending injury during the St. John's Red Storm game yesterday at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Florida State medical staff reported van Arem had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13-14 months.

Currently van Arem has a 5-5 won-lost record in 15 starts with a 4.41 ERA. He also has 55 strikeouts in 67.1 innings.
