Florida State Loses Payne for Year

The season is ending on a bad note for John Payne, starting pitcher for the Florida State Seminoles. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Payne was hurt against the Arkansas State Red Wolves while throwing a pitch. He suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will be out for at least 9 months.

This year Payne has worked 49 innings with 25 strikeouts en route to a 1-4 record and a 4.04 ERA.
