Hobbs Hits in 32 Straight Games Friday, June 11th , 2032 Bill Hobbs, center fielder for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 32 games with 3 hits in his club's 6-5 victory today over the Oregon State Beavers at Jaycees Field today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Oregon State manager Anthony Williamson said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Bill Hobbs flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Chad Araújo in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 8th. During the current season Hobbs is batting at a .379 clip with 10 home runs and 35 RBIs. He has played in 53 games and scored 37 times. |
