Golden Eagles Lose Gallegos for Season Friday, May 21st , 2032 The Southern Miss Golden Eagles were dealt a severe blow when Javier Gallegos was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Seton Hall Pirates. After the game, the team trainer reported Gallegos might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 20-year-old closer out for the rest of the season with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. They indicated it would take Gallegos at least 10-11 months to heal. This year Southern Miss reliever Gallegos has made 13 relief appearances and has 8 saves. His record is 0-1 with 16 strikeouts in 13 innings and a 4.85 ERA. |
