Adam Roberts Hurt, Out for Year Tuesday, August 26th , 2031 The doctors have spoken and Adam Roberts of the Kansas Jayhawks didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Roberts sustained his season-ending injury during the Sam Houston State Bearkats game yesterday at Don Sanders Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Kansas medical staff reported Roberts had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months. For the year Roberts has saved 2 games while posting an ERA of 4.81 and 74 strikeouts in 101 innings. His totals also include a 6-6 record in 30 relief appearances. |
