Hat Trick of Home Runs for Middendorf Saturday, July 31st , 2032 Arie Middendorf went yard three times in a Roswell UFO's victory over the North Side Bootleggers at Einert's Field today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Roswell left fielder went 3-for-3 against North Side with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the UFO's to the 7-0 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Arie Middendorf walked in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Johnny Bowman in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Johnny Bowman in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Raúl Cerda in the 8th. For the year Middendorf has hit at a .259 clip with 53 RBIs, 22 home runs and 41 runs scored. |
