Tortoises End Guldenmond's Streak Thursday, July 8th , 2032 The Carmel Scoobys lost to the Madison Tortoises 5-4 today at Cyclone Alley, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Gidde Guldenmond's 20-game hitting streak. The second baseman went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Guldenmond, we would win the game," Tortoises manager Dee Brown explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This season Guldenmond is batting .302 with 1 home run. |
