José Hernández, the Juneau Mountaineers 25-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Martinez League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 14 hits in 25 at-bats, compiling a .560 average with no home runs and 6 RBIs. This year Hernández is batting .342 with 80 hits, 1 home run, 23 RBIs, 30 walks, .416 OBP and has scored 45 runs. |
