Year Over for Mountaineers García
Sunday, June 13th , 2032
José García of the Mountaineers just might have to call it quits for the season. The 24-year-old Juneau reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Weequahic Seabees recently at Jackie Robinson Park. García suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch. The Mountaineers medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 5 months.
Thus far this season García has compiled a 2-4 record, made 20 relief appearances with no saves, hurling 30.2 innings and striking out 27. He has held the opposition to a .248 batting average with a 4.40 ERA.
