Big 3-HR Day for López Sunday, June 20th , 2032 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Oklahoma City Cyclones today. Corpus Christi right fielder Manuel López tripled up on the home runs to propel the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits to the 12-4 win at Cyclone Alley. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Oklahoma City manager Bobby J Jones said. "López hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, López collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Manuel López grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Bob Frazier in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Bob Frazier in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Augusto Banda in the 9th. Hitting .258 to date, López has 16 home runs and 49 RBIs. He has played in 69 games. |
