Hernández Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20 Thursday, June 10th , 2032 It just wasn't Félix Hernández's day. The Sausalito Meatballs took the 7-1 win today over the Bugaboo Creek Caribou, but the Caribou mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 20-game hitting streak of Meatballs right fielder Félix Hernández. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Hernández," Bugaboo Creek manager Scott MacRae commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Meatballs have other hitters and they did their job today." So far this season Hernández has put up a .283 batting average with 62 hits, 6 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
