BigStars End Jones's Streak Saturday, June 5th , 2032 The Napoleon Dynamites lost to the Austin BigStars 12-2 today at South End Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Jim Jones's 22-game hitting streak. The left fielder went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Jones, we would win the game," BigStars manager Chipper Jones explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." For the season Jones has hit .326 with 5 home runs and 24 RBIs. He has played in 45 games and scored 32 times. |
