The Cumberland Copperheads weathered an outstanding game by Stratford left fielder Bob Letson to topple the Cosmos, 8-7. Letson hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Cumberland reliever Juan Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Steve Reed took the loss. Cumberland is in third place in the Nied League Webb Division with a record of 37-26.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Cumberland trailing 7-4, Lorenzo López jumped on a 1-0 changeup from Steve Reed for a grand slam home run, sending the Copperheads to a walk-off win.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said López.
