Cumberland Copperheads starter Steve Lowry was in fine form against the Kiawah Island Muckdogs at John Lee Pettimore Field, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Roger Taylor recorded the save for Cumberland, his 2nd of the season. The Copperheads, now 5-2, have hit the ground running this season.
In the bottom of the second, Cumberland left fielder António Reyes had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Reyes stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-2, Cumberland. For the game, he went 2-4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI.
"I like our mindset right now," said Cumberland manager David Eckstein.
