The 5-1 Winnipeg win over Puerto Rico was due in large part to Myles Hodges. The Goldeyes catcher was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Cecil Powell got the win, improving to 5-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Jason Porter converted his 1st save in 2 tries.

Hodges contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Winnipeg in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Hodges took a forkball from Carlos Marín and stroked the home run to left-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Goldeyes to leap in front, 3-1.

"We'll put that win in the can," said Hodges, "and go after the next one."

Winnipeg is now 30-31. Puerto Rico is 31-30.
