The Stratford Cosmos got a magnificent effort from pitcher Amdre Nova, who kept Toronto hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Cosmos win at LaBatt's Blue Park. Stratford reliever Steve Reed picked up the win to move to 2-0. Tien-kai Wu suffered the loss. The win has Stratford at 5-1.

Stratford needed the clutch hitting of Jaime Castillo to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cosmos on top, 3-1. For the game, Castillo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Enjoyed this one," Castillo told the Stratford Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
