Spirited fans greeted the Brooklyn Bats for their clash with the Puerto Rico Tropics.

The Puerto Rico Tropics took Brooklyn pitcher Ramón Patino's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Jackie Robinson Park. The final score had Puerto Rico getting past the Bats, 5-1. Patino went 5 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 1. Puerto Rico is now 27-26. Brooklyn is 19-34.

Puerto Rico used the timely hitting of Francisco Castillo to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tropics on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Castillo, "one at-bat at a time."
