Saints Snatch Late Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the St. Paul Saints and D.C. Teddys.
The 6-4 St. Paul win over D.C. was due largely to Ralph Penketh. The Saints second baseman was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Earning his 11th save for St. Paul was Luis Salazar.
Penketh had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 cutter from Ryan Bramwell, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Saints a 6-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Penketh.
"We played hard and won," said Penketh. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
St. Paul is now riding a 3-game win streak.
