Puerto Rico got a strong outing from José Castillo as the Tropics defeated the Sausalito Meatballs, 3-1, at 420 Park. Castillo got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 5 innings. Castillo allowed 1 run. Earning his 1st save for Puerto Rico was Miles Dijk.
The Tropics got a big at-bat from center fielder Francisco Castillo. For the game, Castillo went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Puerto Rico a 2-0 lead.
