Camels Nip Lynx, 2-1
|
The Cooperstown Camels got a magnificent performance from pitcher John Fletcher, who muffled the Vancouver offense en route to a tight 2-1 Camels win at DoubleHump Field. Reliever Vincente Maldonado picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Drees Renders took the loss. The loss makes Vancouver 14-35.
Virgil Sellick swatted a 2-run home run for Cooperstown in the bottom of the eighth. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Fletcher.
