The Stratford Cosmos defeated the Austin BigStars, 11-2. Doing his part was designated hitter Jaime Castillo, who was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Raimondo Amberezzio, the winner, improved to 5-3. He held the BigStars to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The second-place Cosmos improved to 31-18.

Stratford used the bat of Bob Letson to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Cosmos ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We came out aggressive," said Cosmos manager George Brandt. "We came out swinging the bats."
