The Stratford Cosmos got a stellar effort from pitcher Steve Reed, helping Stratford score a win over the visiting Vancouver Lynx, 5-1. Reed, now 13-7, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Stratford raised its record to 86-51 with the win.

The Cosmos got a big hit from right fielder Manuel Salazar. In the bottom of the fifth, Salazar pounded a bases-clearing triple to right. His 2nd triple of the season put the Cosmos ahead, 4-0.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Reed told the Stratford Herald.
