Muckdogs Sneak By Union, 3-2

The Kiawah Island Muckdogs got a stellar performance from pitcher José Torres, who handcuffed the Kittanning offense en route to a win, 3-2, at The Citizen. César Torres earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. Javier Yzazaga earned the save, his 3rd, for the Muckdogs.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Domingo Jiménez's at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth was crucial. The Kiawah Island catcher hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Jiménez.
Kiawah Island raised its record to 22-22 with the win.
