The Kittanning Union picked up a win at LaBatt's Blue Park, knocking off the Toronto Red Birds, 6-3. On the mound for Kittanning was right-hander Manuel Vázquez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Kittanning reliever Rod Brace picked up the win to move to 5-0. Ramón Bravo suffered the loss. Ernest Burton was credited with the save for Kittanning, his 1st of the season.

Kittanning used a timely hit from Gavin Lux to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Union ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Lux told the Kittanning Times.

Today's win puts Kittanning at 25-14, while Toronto falls to 21-18.
