BigStars Fall Short, 4-3, at Border City
The Border City Buck$ did just enough to secure a victory over the Austin BigStars, 4-3, at Legion Field. Nobody did more than pitcher David Kennedy. Border City reliever Alfie Devine got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Toby Church was tagged with the loss. With the win, Border City goes to 15-13.

Had Rubén Rivera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Rivera hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Buck$.

"We take it day by day here," said Kennedy, "and today was a good one for us."
