Kittanning Gets 7-2 Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Kittanning Union and Kansas City Scouts.
The Kittanning Union beat the Kansas City Scouts by a score of 7-2. Kittanning center fielder Jo Adell deserved the lion's share of the credit. Adell went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Union. José Arreola, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 2-0.
Kittanning used a well-timed hit by Steve Bailey to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Union ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kittanning manager Dan Haley.
The win puts Kittanning at 16-11.
