Streaking BigStars Win Another One, 7-4
|
The Austin BigStars defeated the Daniel Brand A's, 7-4, at Googleplex today. Leading the charge for Austin was first baseman Javier Rodríguez. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Rick Snow was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. For the Brand A's, the loss makes their record 8-18.
The BigStars got a big at-bat from left fielder Wilson Hernández. For the game, Hernández went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Austin a 4-3 lead.
