Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Stratford Cosmos and Daniel Brand A's.

The Stratford Cosmos had to overcome a good performance from Daniel pitcher Dan Wilkerson to claim a 3-2 win at The Lockar Room. Wilkerson went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Stratford reliever Steve Reed picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Blair MacInroy shouldered the loss.

Stratford won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Blair MacInroy on the mound for Daniel, right fielder Manuel Salazar hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Cosmos fans to their feet.

Salazar said his team "played with determination."

At 2-1, the Cosmos have played well so far.
