South Side shortstop Matt Chapman had a good game, even if his team did not. The Enforcers dropped a 6-5 decision to Echo Park at Staples Center. Chapman was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Yajirobei Takeuchi was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Despite the win, Echo Park, now 7-17, is off to a terrible start.

Gonzalo Salas had a big 2-run double for the Lakers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Echo Park leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Richard Verhoeve and swatted a double to right. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lakers ahead, 5-2.

"We'll build on this win," said Salas.
