Big Day for Hernández as BigStars Down Camels, 9-7
The Austin BigStars knocked off the Cooperstown Camels, 9-7, at Googleplex. Wilson Hernández was a big reason Austin won. The left fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Reliever Cedric Hill picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Vincente Maldonado took the loss. Charles Parsons got credit for the save for Austin. It was his 7th of the year.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Hernández delivered big-time for Austin, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Jean-Claude Doucet. The game-changing hit put the BigStars on top, 9-7.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Cooperstown manager Wily Mo Pena.

The BigStars, now 13-3, have been playing some good baseball.
