The North Newton Threshers are bound for the Round 3.

A 10-2 win over the Seattle Pilots at The Citizen ended the Round 2, 4-2.

"We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Roberto Hernández. "This could be the biggest celebration North Newton has ever seen if we can win the Round 4."

The state of the VBL Triple A championship remains in doubt, but the Threshers certainly appear to be strong contenders.

Hernández was named MVP of the Round 2 after he posted a .519 batting average, while adding 2 home runs, driving in 8 RBI and scoring 7 runs.

The North Newton Threshers will play against the Durham Bulls in the next round. Durham won their series against the Saskatchewan Roughriders 4 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
