Round 1 Goes the Distance, Wrigleyville Prevails
The fans in Wrigleyville are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Reno.

The Wrigleyville Cursed Billy Goats finished off the Reno Golden Bears 3-0 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at The Enforcer Grounds.

They took the series 2-1 and will now head to the Round 2.

For his standout play, Wrigleyville first baseman Paolo Schuilenberg was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .250, drove in 5 runs and scored 2 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Schuilenberg and that doomed us," said Golden Bears manager Billy Sanford. "Hats off to Wrigleyville, though. That was a great series."

The Wrigleyville Cursed Billy Goats will play against the Stacy Bay Hawks in the next round. Stacy had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
