Stratford got a valiant performance from pitcher Amdre Nova, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toronto Red Birds. Toronto won the game, 2-1. Nova threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. O-jun Kang came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. Jorge Gallegos, credited with the save, is now 9 for 10 in save opportunities.

Toronto took a 2-1 lead on Jorge Flores's 20th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Flores hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Stratford pitcher Rick Cederberg shaking his head.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Flores.

The 6th-place Red Birds raised their record to 64-67.
