BigStars Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Napoleon
|
Austin and Napoleon duked it out and the BigStars came out victorious.
The Austin BigStars trumped the Napoleon Dynamites, 8-5, at Googleplex. Austin designated hitter Dong-hoon Hwang was terrific. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times. Dusty Bowden picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-1. Eduardo Franco was tagged with the loss.
Had Bob Jones not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Jones hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the BigStars.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Hwang said. "We did a good job of that today."
The triumph puts Austin at 75-53 for the season.
