Spirited fans greeted the Daniel Brand A's for their clash with the Kittanning Union.

The exploits of designated hitter Francisco Pineda, who finished 4th in the NL in slugging percentage with .535 last year, helped the Kittanning Union defeat the Daniel Brand A's, 7-2. Pineda went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3. The first-place Union have won 5 in a row.

Kittanning used a well-timed hit by António Grillo to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Union ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Pineda told the Kittanning Observer.
