Reds Win at Omaha, 3-2
|
The Shelbyville Reds picked up a win at iField @ Berkshire Hathaway Park, knocking off the Omaha Bandits, 3-2. On the mound for Shelbyville was left-hander Mike Jacobson, who played a pivotal role in the win. Jacobson, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Rafael García earned the save for Shelbyville, his 2nd of the year.
Shelbyville used the bat of Joseph Sawyer to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Reds ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Omaha manager Mal Reeves said following the tough loss.
The win gives Shelbyville a record of 2-0.
